A lot of things you do are mental, just run up without a ball and keep it in your mind to keep it brace. You mightn't get it totally braced as not all bowlers can do it. I guess a lot has to do with physical attributes of your body too.

its not nessicerally the speed of your hip-drive, its the timing of it that will get the right muscles working to provide more speed to your bowling arm, as the faster the arm comes over the faster the ball comes out.
as for the front leg, this happend to me when i was working on my hip and chest drive, the hip drive and the front leg work together
if you just stand in place of your bowling action and bend and brace your leg you will see your hip moving, althought this is not the feeling you want, you want to drive your hip thought making your front leg brace, your hip is hanging behind because your leg is collapsing and vice versa for your hip.
its something you will just have to work hard at, it took me a bit but if you make sure your doing it everytime it will start to come naturally, also, with the front leg braced you get a LOT more bounce, my leg is always braced now and i can always get bouncers chest or head high, unless the pitch is dead of corse,
so i tihnk also maybe taking a slightly longer delivery stride might help, you want your leg to either be landing braced, or slightly bend on landing and then bracing as you drive your hip through, thats what i do, you want your hip to be almost leading the action for a split second while its driving through, just really work on it while standing still, walking it, and ever time you bowl
ask me if you need any mroe help
hope what i said halped aswell

He's right ya know. It's all about force summation- timing all your movements into a flowing action.

Hi,
You mention that the brace leg or the lack of a braced leg is causing the right (i'm a right handed bowler) to lag behind, I get that but why vice versa?? Any ideas on how to increase the separation? I mean when standing I can get it but first i have to get into my bowling stride, hips forward and then move my shoulders back. I end up with decent separation but still can seem to get it when I bowl - even of a couple of steps? my third question is I crunch to one side as I bowl, now my reasoning for that is my non bowling arm does not stay up long enough. At front foot impact my left arm is by my side - pointing down. Is my crunch why I am not able to keep that arm or vice versa? are there any drills to fix this? Sorry for the heavy post but i'd love anyone's input no matter how little or insignificant. thanks,
