Tickets for Sonisphere Knebworth arrived this morning. Much relief as it starts on Thursday of next week. Was getting worried.

Booked some tickets for The Darkness this morning. I know they get looked down on by some but they're great fun.

Just back from Download Festival at Donington Park. Seen some great bands there over the years. My favourite was Iron Maiden in 2003. They're one of my favourite bands and it's the best outdoor/festival venue in the world so perfect match.

Simply one of the greatest pieces of music ever written Clobs - I have Pulse at home and drive the old girl to distraction playing it practically every weekend !

One of my favorite albums was "Man Machine" which I used to listen a lot in 80's.

It's a fantastic concert Clobs and getting Clapton to guest on "Further on up the road" shows how respected JB is.  He definitely mixes it up and with Glenn Hughes and Jason Bonham they've made 2 albums - Black Country Communion - well worth a listen as well !Tongue

I was on Napster today so had a listen to Joe Bonamassa's Live At The Albert Hall album.

I am generally a bit loathe to listen to too much blues stuff as it is all samey samey after a while, but to Joe's credit he mixes it up really well, with a good dollop of rockier stuff and even some terrific acoustic material too. His playing throughout, it goes without saying to those that have heard him before, is sensational.

The first single I ever bought was We'll Bring The House Down by Slade :)

I can't really remember what the first album I bought was, but the first one I was given was a compilation called Axe Attack, on the then mighty K-Tel label!

Quite right fellas - Joe's the next big thing!  Stevie Ray Vaughan was another hero of mine , along with Gary Moore ,alas , both have now gone.

The 1st single I bought was Twist and Shout by the Beatles , back in 1964!  (actually was an E.P and I wanted I want to hold your hand , but it was sold out!!).

My 1st album was Deep Purple in Rock - 1970 - still a favourite !

Favourite bands - James, Embrace, Dire Straits, The Stone Roses, Matchbox 20, Iron Maiden

Favourite albums - On Every Street (Dire Straits), Millionaires (James), This New Day (Embrace)

Best concerts attended - My concert experience is pretty limited but I have seen Fun Lovin Criminals (very good) and JJ72 (entirely unmemorable) play live when I was at university.

Favourite Music Videos - Not a great one for videos and none spring to mind.

Can anyone remember their first single / album they bought was? My first album was What's The Story, Morning Glory by Oasis (number one at the time) and my first single was, I believe, Mr Writer by Stereophonics. Still got it on tape!

Agree with the Joe Bonamassa stuff - my Dad played me some of his stuff in January and I was impressed. The boy can play.

Spoke to Angus on the phone, briefly. My old man was having work done on his Gibson in  a guitar builders  in Brum . My father has the same guitar as Angus but his is quite rare. Les Paul RIP, Made Gibson take his name off that style, as he never liked the design. Gibson then renamed the model S.G which simply means Solid guitar. My fathers has Les Paul on the Stock and worth a few quid. Anyhow, Angus had seen his guitar in the workshop and phoned to see if he wanted to sell, The old man was doing a gig so I passed on his message. He never did sell it to him, and these days never uses it, preferring to use his Strats or Tele’s.

Big Motorhead fan Clobs , they get plenty of airplay in our house!    Love AC/DC too - any band that has been at the top for 30-odd years has to have talent - Angus is my age as well !

As I come From the birth place of heavy metal and my father is quite a well known guitarist I only have and only will listen to one genre of must.

I started off with Thin Lizzy, Queen UFO and Status quo in the mid to late 70s but was Into my fathers music before that. Bands like The Who, Hendrix, Deep purple, Emerson lake and Palmer early ZZ Top. When The ‘NWOBHM’ (New wave of British Heavy Metal) Broke out in 1979 I became a ‘Heavy Rocker’ and still live and dress the same outside work as I did when I was 14 years old. I’ve Seen all the big hitters live over the years and still go these days, but not in the pit any more as its too much for the wife.

I like so many bands it would take too long to name the all, But Iron Maiden are my all time favourite band, I even have a shrine to them in my house and am a collector of all things maiden. First saw them on the Killers tour 1980.

I play guitar myself and own many ‘Axes’ I even build them

Stay Heavy……and up the Irons.

I am a huge fan of the local music too - but only the fellow Indians would know about it - Lata, Rafi, Kishore, Talat Mehmood, Noor Jehan - love the classical music here.
