Some of the guys who decided to give him MOS for two ODI series post World Cup need do a lot of interospection on why they gave him the MOS award! Either they are out of their senses or they are prefectly right in what they did. I know who was right and who was wrong... Anyway , MOS means Man Of the Series. Back to Asia Cup , good that the complaint has been rejected on the ground that Umpires have not brought it to the notice.Anyway max they could have got was two runs out of it.Pakistan played and handled the pressure better and they won it. Nothing about this incident, I guess Umpires must not be responsible for taking many on feild controvertial calls ..... I guess things like Chucking (Once in a while... there are quite a few who do that), Ball Tampering , Pitch Tampering, Sledging while not in umpire's view... all this should not be under the control of Umpires persual. All this has to be ongoing ... probably only place where

I have said before and will say it again Nohit Sharma is a very ordinary player i'm very happy that they are wasting time with him but sorry to say they will get no rewards there are far more talented player in India than him.

I actually really like what I have seen of Robin Uthappa, he looks like he's matured a lot of late and he's quite grounded. I think he could be a useful prospect, while I'm sure Pujara will be eyeing a comeback. |

India's next series is against SLN in July (Yes, Sri lanka AGAIN!!! some 1000th time in last 3 years
).It's a 3 test series, that's all, India have already played their last ODI of 2012. Plenty of time still for selectors and management to think about various options, they'll get 1 month off after the IPL. VVS won't retire for now, they'll phase out seniors one by one. I do agree that sometimes losing turns out to be good for a team in the long run as it doesn't give any false impressions, still feel had Pakistan lost to BAN in the finals it would have been better for Pakistan, not that I wanted them to lose but think it would have been better. I also feel India were not that bad in the Asia Cup, they played better cricket than Pakistan to be honest but were unlucky not to reach the finals... Pakistan will take a bit of luck though, it's something they haven't had often.

Sharma's non inclusion in Test side is one of the biggest mistake Indian selectors had done. He should have played atleast 20 matches by now.The other candidate I strongly recommend for ODI's and T20's is Robin Uthappa in shorter form of the game.
Now he has taken up the glove work for state team and doing pretty good ,instead of trying other untested youngsters, selectors should give this guy another long rope. He had proved himself at highest level at a young age that he could fit in.He was never given a stable spot to play, he was always like a floater fitting anywhere from opener to number 7. His IPL performances might be joke for many, but he is that sort of player who when in good form does not matter if that is international or domestic bowler. Now he has matured with age and can really tear any attack apart on his day.

ODI performances can influence test selection, certainly Sharma must be contention after a couple of good performances, and someone like Irfan Pathan, on the contrary, will not be in contention.

I am not concerned about their ODI's , it is the Test matches that they had to worry about.
With recent RD's announcement ( hope Lax too does the same before next series gets underway) , hope the new guys will assured of longer run which would translate into their success.

Congratulations to Pakistan for winning the Asia Cup.
Many congratulations for BD , for they have proved beyond doubt that they were the best team in the tournament, unfortunately they could not cross the line. Probably this was the first time BD played under weight of expectations ... and this is what it does. Now BD players will know what it takes to play under huge expectations, and how it wears you down. On India , not able to make it to Finals just goes to show that they are in a terrible rut post world cup. They are brilliant one day , while average in next ... somehow one or the other things is going against them on the field. All that talk and nonsense logic about "Everything will fall in place once they go back to sub-continent","They can play only on flat track" etc is gone in thin air. The fact that they could not even make it to Asia Cup finals , just goes to show that their recent losses post World Cup is more of bad form and other issues rather than their ability to bat abroad... which infact is a good thing. The only tournament they looked assured was the 5 ODI's against England at home , other than that , India post World Cup has been on a downward curve.Maybe they just need another break or IPL to set things place in place again or maybe be Yuvraj's return. On SL , this has been one of their worst tournaments , where they could not win a single match, what would hurt them more ... they never looked to win even one match in this Asia cup even once. That after a considerable good showing in CB series. |

Yes, as mystery has mentioned Pakistan have a full tour of Sri Lanka (3 tests, 5 ODI's and 2 T20's) starting late May, and also 5 ODI's against AUS most likely at a neutral venue in August just before the WT20.

After such a strong performance by Bangladesh it is disheartening to see their FTP, they hardly play against any team except Zimbabwe, and the same goes for Zimbabwe. Now that BAN aren't touring PAK, they only play ZIM and WI in 2012 apart from WT20. For ZIM it's even worse they only play BAN and WT20 in the remainder of 2012.

I dont think that the bowler wanted to bowl outside the leg stump even if the batsman goes forward. This was a perfect yorker and a very good last over from cheema. On that wicket it was very difficult to defend 8 runs from 6 balls. It was BDs game before the last over started. He did very well. The BD batsmen played too many scoop shots and that got them in the end.
The last over of Pakistan innings gave Pakistan hope to win this. I dont think Pakistan had tried to win with 220 runs. |

That last delivery would've gone for 4 wides if the batsman had just got out of the way ! The last over of both innings's were a joke - death bowling ? Both bowlers did everything in their power to hand the match to the opposition.

Yes Sam they will be far better team from now on and BPL is a big reason behind that. Pakistan won the Asia Cup but BD have won the hearts. |

Congratulations to Pakistan on winning the Asia Cup! Good job done, but there is a lot to be done still boys, the team needs to take itself to another level.
What a tournament for Bangladesh! A tournament which saw the Bangla Boys become Men! No need to be sad Mystery, I myself had mixed feelings, it's not often that I don't shout or celebrate a Pakistan title win, but today it was totally different. Bangladesh will be winning a lot more in future Mystery, be happy that they have knocked out a team whose board thinks they are not even worth playing against even during next 10 years, Bangladesh have earned respect and won many hearts.

I think BD had very good luck today as they got a lot of support from the umpires. The Out of Umar Akmal and Younus was a joke.
Anyway they played way better than expected. Pakistan have to look for a few solid Batsmen for odis. How many times should the bowling win them matches? |

Bad luck to BD. Couldn't handle the pressure in the end, too much left to Shakib and Nasir batted way too slowly and put too much pressure on the lower order.
Nice work, nonetheless, by BD to do so well. Should be a step forward for them, and hopefully they continue to improve. Stuart Law has done a good job for them as coach, he's a true professional and this BD side looks more professional than ever. Edited by Mikey - 22 March 2012 at 4:10pm |

Bangladesh choose to chase , which suits their approach in the one day format at home. The decision appears to the right one too , as they've snared a wicket and Pakistan are 16-1 after 4.2 overs !
I expect all the neutrals are pulling for them - I agree with most comments here , Bangladesh fully deserve to be in the final and if Pakistan have a bad day at the office could well go on and win their 1st major trophy. Edited by Sledger - 22 March 2012 at 8:26am |

Whether you call it an "upset" or not, it doesn't matter guys, Bangladesh had to start winning or at least start showing some strong performances at some point of time and I'm glad that it's happening now.
Rumors are that Pakistan may also make some changes to their ODI and T20 team and are likely to include more youngsters while Misbah, Younus, Cheema and even Gul could be on their way out and preferred only for Tests. Afridi or Hafeez can be the future captains. There are also indications that Shoaib Malik and Kamran Akmal could be back in the side in more "Important" roles for their next series which will be against SLN in May-June. I'm all for change in PAK limited overs team irrespective of what happens tomorrow.
