It would be fearful for the crowd when Lewis is bowling --- I would have thought Flintoff and Harmisson looked pretty deadly with bouncers and swing. I found it hard trying to predict myself watching the TV wereabouts they were going to bowl it. McGrath just consistently bowls in the hotspot outside offstump |

true CCC. i would also like to bat against mcgrath as i would be bowled or lbw rather than being in the hospital bed by facing akthar or lee.

If I was batting, I'd rather face McGrath than Shoaib or Lee...

definetly mick lewis... especially after that fantastic pie throwing effort against South Africa seriously though... Lee or Ntini atm... both are in fantastic form, and both are quick... Lee definetly the quicker of the 2 though...... Akhtar at his best would also be scary... quick n not a very pretty sight |

Shoaib Akhtar because of his sheer pace. I think that Brett Lee should be on the list too.

abt the most feared its shoaib for me. mcgrath isn't that fast . if it was the best seamer then it would have been mcgrath. shoaib's bouncer can be lethal. also ,brett lee's beamer can terrorise any batsman |

If you say feared then its the chance of physical hurt, guys like shoab, Lee, Harmison, Bond, Ntini, Nel and Malinga are feared most in the same order, but if you take a captains choice the most feared bowlers for their teams in the actual context of a match are macgrath and pollock for accuracy and strike rate.

Ill say Mcgrath. He bowls so accurately. He's Line and Length is so consitent that the Batsman never score of him. McGrath can bowl maidens in his sleep. Batsman find it impossible to score of him. I will say Brett Lee as well. Alot of the Kiwis were scared of him. he just bowls too fast. In the paper, they made funny cartoons saying that the batsman from the Nz team were scared of him. |

Glenn McGrath for sure. He teases you, with that Line & Length, trying to get you to make a mistake.

That's hilarious (the ending part of your post)! I completely agree with you. Shoaib is the most feared if you mean the guy who's most likely to hurt you!

to answer the question about pace bowling...Mark waugh once said on commentry that he was glad he was in the commentery box and not out there in the middle facinh shoib...Brian Lara after getting hit by akhtar in the champs trophy in 2005 said..he is the fastest he has faced, and he said he would want to stay away from facing shoib again if he was to continue with his career! enough said! |

Pollock and McGrath are the 2 best bowlers but their pace is nothing to be scared about. The bowler to fear is somebody like Akhtar or Lee

Definately McGrath, Shoaib and Steve dont bowl seam very well, McGrath hist the seam and gets lateral movement both ways better then any body else for sure. I would say Pollock No.2, the other bowlers dont deserve mention jsut of yet.

Depends on your interpretation of fear. Plenty batters will be afraid
of Shoaib due the risk of being hurt by the sheer pace - same is true
of Harmison with his steep bounce.
If your question is actually "which seamer is most likely to get you out" then yeah, it would be McGrath for the time being. |
