Shane Bond has an average of 18.5. No one goes on about him but I've
just realised he has the best bowling average (and strike-rate) in the world. Are you surprised or not... |

My two favourite Batsmen:
Jacques Kallis is a very solid but destructive batsmen and not to mention he can bowl as well. I also like Michael Clarke for his amazing batting talent at such a young age |

I am suprised though. Even with the small number of games, he looks to me like a bowler who will pick up many wickets but will also go for many runs. Still it is way too early to decide but an average of 18.5 is an excellent start to ones career

That's a great start to his career, but like everyone else said, he hasn't played enough matches.

Micheal Clarke has a bowling average of 8.50. So that means capital_s made a slight mistake. The guy with the lowest bowling average is Micheal Clarke.

I always rate shane bond as the best quicky going around. yeah even better than lee and akhtar. His line and lenght is great and he is seriously quick even though he eased down on it a bit. But i've said this many times that injury has deprived him of a wonderful career. He swings the ball around very well and has a brilliant inswinger. He can reverse the ball both ways and has one of the best slower yorkers I have seen. He is a silent assassin on a green top. He is this good, trust me, ask the aussies batsman which quicky gave them the most nightmares in an odi's series and in the world cup 2003. |

Shane Bond breaks down taking his sweater from the umpire!!
It's a sad fact that this lad won't play very much more test cricket. |

If he wasn't injured as much as he is then I'm sure New Zealand would be much higher in the country rankings. Whenever he plays he always seems to take wickets, but didn't expect him to have one of the best averages I have to say.

Yeah, Shane Bond is great in those cricket sims too! A bowling average of below 20, in a cricket sim, is like unstoppable.

How many games has he played though. People reckon you have to have bowled/batted 20 times before you have your average

Couldn't agree more Spin. A great shame for NZL cricket that he hasn't played more games. |

Shane Bond is a treat to watch. Aussies don't give hime the due credit as it was the Aussies at the receiving end of his fire works

By the way the bowler with the lowest average ever is Lohmann ( I don't know his first name). His average was 10.75, and before you ask, he wasn't a batsman who only bowled a few overs, he was a specialist fast bowler. He played for England in the 1890's but left over WG Graces obsene pay check. He also has the best strike rate ever at 34.

Well not that many, he could've played a lot more, especially as in those days crciketers could play until they were fifty.
