I'm getting sick and tired of this. This season I've been out 3 times LBW, and once bowled, now, what I want to know is, what am I doing wrong? Today, at our match, I was given out to a ball, which was pitched fast, and directed at my pads, and I tried to hit it away, on the leg side, mind you, I was in a bit of a slog mood, we needed 172 to win, and we were pathetically bowled out for 129. Well, I guess, what I'm trying to ask you is, what do I do to these shortish pitched deliveries that are aimed at my pads?
It's really ticking me off. |

I usually just defend those with a straight bat until I get comfortable facing them.

Plus, I never got any batting practise leading into the match.

As Rafay said, a straight bat is the answer. Only top-class players
like are capable of playing across the line to deliveries on the stumps
at the start of their innings without getting out. By playing across
the line, the slightest error in timing will see you out bowled or LBW.
Play balls directed at the stumps with a staight bat until you get
settled in your innings and are timing the ball well.

Try stepping in to the ball and playing them full. Make sure you move your feet sufficiently or you'll be stuck LBW

Hey man what's up...are you still having the LBW problem...well maybe you should play more on the front foot, take a bigger stride and to teh quickies bat outside your crease. Make sure you take middle or leg aswell. GOOD LUCK!!
