Wrong. Vaas hit the biggest at Sharjah. It landed on the far side of the highway near the stadium. Bowler was Travis Friend of Zimbabawe.

See this what happens, Pakistan fan (mAni_paKi) would say Afridi hit the biggest at Sharjah, and then Sri Lankan fan (Wal Bada) would say Vass hit the biggest at Sharjah.

I have question to both of you, Where is this going to end up?

may be Wal bada is right and i even didn't named Afridi,I said Ijaz Ahmed.Im a Paki fan so obviously i have seen more Asian cric then australian or African.

I am aware of that, clobs. In other thread, there are stats to support. Tell me just 1 way you can tell if that ball that was hit was the biggest of all or not. The only thing you have is video of that ball, and nothing else.

Judging from the poll it seems that the "other" person must be Afridi's six. Well by the way doesn't Afridi have the highest number of sixes in limited overs cricket?

Well that works.

Its strange how Afridi is not in the list, because many people thinks he has the biggest six ever.

I can't help but laugh every time I see that 6 off Symonds. That is an absolutely gigantic hit.
It's a long way to the shop, if you want a sausage roll.

Brett Lee's SIXXX!!!!! against Sri Lanka or South Africa at the Gabba in I think either test or ODI was an ABSOLUTE MONSTER!!! It went out of the stadium on top of the nets of a net thing.

While another big 6 from Lee against off Flintoff in the Ashes which went out of the ground or on the roof at what ever the ground was MONSTROUS!!!

Check out my blog http://crictopia.blogspot.com/ pretty bad though...

Let's get this mess cleared up. Afridi, Symonds, Flintoff, Dhoni, Kemp and Inzi are biggest six hitters of current era. Jayasuriya, Lara, Ganguly, Tresco and all those Aussies hit them frequently but they are not that big. But once in a while others also hit a monstrous six or two. Vaas' one was like that. But biggest I have seen is Lance Cairns' one handed six.
Don't argue with fools. They'll drag you down to their level and then beat you with experiance

I think Ponting's one-handed six in the finals in 2003 WC finals was also big. It went out of the stadium, but you'll have to take in account that the stadium was small and the bowlers were Indians.

The biggest  I've seen live was Kemp hitting a few over the tiers and directly outside of Newlands.

The Lara one was amazing. I didn't kwo what happened to the Gilchrist. It didn't even go out of the stadium, and it took so long to retrieve the ball.

Why was Gilchrist unhappy at one point.

Hey inzi329, you missed Dhoni in your poll. He is a bigger hitter than Sehwag. Ganguly could have been there too.

I think Gilchrist was unhappy because he didn't hit the sign.

During Afridi's wuick fire century against India last year, he hit a six which was on the roof for a LONG time. The crowd took 10 minutes just to get the bll down.

Has anyone heard of the news that Sachin Tendulkar hit a ball out of the stadium in a practice match and injuring a secrutiy guard on the arm when the ball hit him? Is it a rumor?

I think all of you people must have forgotten about a certian Mr Chris Cairns.  When he hit a ball for 6, it really went for 6. He hit some real monsters in his time

I feel for Chris Cairns for I see him being remembered as a slogger. He was a class bat who just happened to hit big much of the time. Two members of the NZ team I really feel for are Cairns and Vettori. Can you imagine them in an aussie line up where they had some help.

why has no one mentioned Gary Sobers?, he hit 6 sixes in a row, and his sixth went about 50m away from the stadium, it was massive; also, punter smashed a long six in that Twenty20 against south africa, in january. his shot hit some chick in the crowd, tony grieg said "that will be black and blue for a month". hahaha
