Match drawn: Australia won the series 2-1

Virender Sehwag hit a supreme 151 in India's second innings on the final day of the fourth and final Test against Australia in Adelaide, but the match was drawn despite a declaration from Anil Kumble late in the day.

India closed on 269 for seven with no other batsman passing 20.

Early on, with Irfan Pathan dismissed the day before and Rahul Dravid retiring hurt after being hit by a Brett Lee delivery, India were effectively two down for 20 before Sehwag's 236-ball innings prevented any chance of an Australian comeback.

Lee and Mitchell Johnson picked up two wickets each and there was one each for Brad Hogg and Andrew Symonds as neither side were able to force a result.

Adam Gilchrist, bowing out of Test cricket, was able to celebrate another series victory as the draw was enough for Australia to take the series 2-1.
