Pakistan will meet Afghanistan in a One-Day International as part of their preparations for the one-day series against England in February.

The two sides will contest an ODI for the first time, although a Pakistan A side beat Afghanistan in three one-day games earlier this year.

The two sides also met in a Twenty20 game at the semi-final stage of the 2010 Asian Games in China, a game that Afghanistan won by 22 runs.

Afghanistan qualified for ODI status when they finished in fifth place in the 2009 ICC World Cup qualifier, winning their first ODI game against Scotland and then went on to qualify for the ICC World Twenty20 in 2010, where they were beaten by India and South Africa in the West Indies.

However, they have yet to pit their skills against a Test-playing nation during their 18 ODI matches.

The game will take place on 10th February in Sharjah.
