Afghanistan beat Zimbabwe 'A' by 16 runs in the first of two one-day warm-up games ahead of their One-Day International series in Zimbabwe.
Left-arm spinner Sharafuddin Ahmed marked his one-day debut by taking six for 29 as Zimbabwe collapsed from 176 for five to be all out for 193 after Afghanistan had earlier been dismissed for 209.
Usman Ghani made 79 in 110 balls for the tourists while Hashmatullah Sahidi made 34 and Shafiqullah Shenwari 24.
Michael Chinouya and Tatenda Manatsa took two wickets apiece.
Zimbabwe then slipped to 42 for four only for Tino Mutombodzi (60) and Luke Jongwe (50) to revive the innings with timely and fluent half-centuris.
Sharafuddin, who had already removed Brian Chari (16) and Forster Mutizwa (0), then dismissed Jongwe, Tafadzwa Kamungozi (0), John Nyumbu (2) and Manatsa (0) to hurry the game to its conclusion.
The two sides meet again tomorrow (14th July) before the first of four ODIs is on 18th July.
