Pakistan have dropped one former captain in Shahid Afridi and recalled another in Younus Khan for their three-match One-Day International series in India.

The tour, which begins with two Twenty20 Internationals in Bangalore and Ahmedabad, will end a five-year hiatus in bilateral series between the two rivals following the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, although the two sides met in the 2011 World Cup semi-final in Mohali as well as the recent ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka.

Mohammad Hafeez will captain the Twenty20 International squad, in which Afridi does feature, while Misbah-ul-Haq takes charge of the ODI side.

Abdul Razzaq has been left out of both squads and Kamran Akmal is selected as the wicket-keeper for both formats of the game. The vastly experienced Younus, a veteran of 245 ODIs, last played an ODI in June.

Asad Shafiq, Aizaz Cheema, Sohail Tanvir and Abdur Rehman have also lost their places from the squad that played against Australia in September although Tanvir is in the T20 squad.

Quick bowler Anwar Ali is included in the ODI squad having last played for Pakistan in a solitary T20 match back in 2008 while batsman Haris Sohail and left-arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar are the other uncapped players in the ODI squad.

Babar, who is also included in the Twenty20 squad, took all 10 wickets in an innings in a first-class match in December 2009 and has taken 56 wickets in 37 one-day games.

Quick bowler Asad Ali is the other uncapped member of the Twenty20 squad which also includes Umar Amin, who last played for Pakistan back in 2010 during the tour of England.

India emerged triumphant in the third One-Day International against Pakistan despite another dismal batting performance, this time in a chilly Delhi. Their total of 167 proved just enough to avoid the series whitewash as Pakistan too struggled with the bat and were all out for just 157. Pakistan's seamers had again caused India's top-order problems, while Saeed Ajmal polished off the middle and lower-order to end with five for 24.
Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni may miss the third and final One-Day International against Pakistan due to a sore back and Dinesh Karthik has been added to the squad as cover. Dhoni has been India's outstanding performer with the bat in the two defeats, scoring 113 and 54 - both unbeaten - in Chennai and Kolkata.
Nasir Jamshed earned a place in the history books with a third consecutive century for Pakistan against India which set up a convincing win in the second One-Day International in Kolkata. Jamshed's 106 saw him emulate Javed Miandad - the last man to achieve the feat - and Pakistan's deserved victory put them into an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Nasir Jamshed and Mahendra Singh Dhoni both scored fine unbeaten centuries in the opening One-Day International between India and Pakistan in Chennai, but it was Jamshed whose innings led his team to victory. India's captain Dhoni made 113 to haul his side from the desperate position of 29 for five to post 227 for six but Jamshed's effort of 101 helped Pakistan over the line with 11 balls to spare.
India pulled one back against Pakistan in the second, and final, T20 International at Ahmedabad. Yuvraj Singh's career best T20I knock of 72 runs and later on Ashok Dinda's spell at the death helped seal an 11-run victory at the Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera.
Sachin Tendulkar has announced his retirement from One-Day Internationals on the day that India announced their limited-overs squads for the forthcoming series against Pakistan. The selectors made six changes from the ODI squad that toured Sri Lanka earlier this year, with Zaheer Khan left out alongside spinners Rahul Sharma and Pragyan Ojha.
