Paul Collingwood and James Anderson are to be given a rest during the remainder of the seven-match One-Day International series against Australia, the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has revealed.

England trail the series 3-0 with four matches remaining but Collingwood and Anderson, their two most experienced players, will miss the next three and two matches respectively, according to the ECB's website (www.ecb.co.uk).

Neither man has missed a match since February and the ECB added that they had left the squad as it prepares for the fourth match at Lord's on Saturday 12th September.

England's gruelling schedule continues with the ICC Champions Trophy later this month and they tour South Africa, Bangladesh and the West Indies this winter.
