Andre Adams Signs Two-Year Deal With Nottinghamshire
New Zealand international Andre Adams has agreed terms on a two year deal with Nottinghamshire.
The 32 year-old right-arm seamer will return to Trent Bridge for the second time in his career having enjoyed a short spell with the club last season.
Adams played in four LV County Championship games for the club, taking six wickets against Derbyshire, and will deputise for England duo Ryan Sidebottom and Stuart Broad.
“With the likely absence of Ryan and Stuart on England duty for most of the summer with England and Graeme Swann’s presence in the England one day squad, we felt that we needed to add depth to our bowling unit and Andre fits the bill perfectly,” said Notts Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“He is an experienced international bowler and a hard hitter as well and he made a solid contribution during the six weeks he spent with us last season.”
Although Adams was registered as an overseas player during his previous spell, his West Indian parentage has allowed him to re-join as a Kolpak player.
“We searched for an English qualified player but it just wasn’t possible and with Andre looking to emigrate to the UK, we made contact and agreed a deal,” said Newell.
“His signing was a cricket decision and we are pleased to have signed a player with an international pedigree.”
