New Zealand all-rounder Andrew Ellis has been ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 with a broken rib, suffered in training in Christchurch.
The 31-year-old picked up the injury during preparations for the three-match One-Day International series in England which precedes the Champions Trophy.
New Zealand Cricket have not yet named a replacement player but are expected to do so before the remainder of the one-day squad heads to England on Tuesday 21st May.
The team, missing those involved in the Test series, will play two matches in Northampton on 24th and 27th May as part of their final preparation for the ODI series, which begins on 31st May at Lord's.
Ellis has played 13 ODIs for New Zealand, scoring 153 runs and taking 11 wickets as well as four Twenty20 Internationals.
