Anil Kumble And American College Cricket Parade T20 World Cup Trophy In NYC
Thousands lined Madison Ave, NYC to watch Anil Kumble and Parade Grand Marshall Saif Ali Khan, son of the late Nawab of Pataudi who captained India in the 1960′s lead the #2nd Annual India Day Parade in New York City.
"In the USA, inexplicably people of cricket background have left cricket out of the social & cultural activies. But TV Asia & American College Cricket is changing that. For the 2nd year TV Asia heavily promoted American College Cricket on their float in the India Day Parade Sunday, " said American College Cricket President Lloyd Jodah.
Chief Guest of the India Day Parade this year was legendary Indian bowler Anil Kumble, and American College Cricket players were ecstatic to be with the Indian cricket great on the Espn float promoting the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka.
American College Cricket's Lloyd Jodah met Kumble and rode on both the Espn & TV Asia float with some American College Cricket players. LIU-Brooklyn Club President Sandeep Devarshetty , Embry-Riddle's Jay Palicha and other American College Cricketers rode with their idol Kumble and the ICC T20 World Cup Trophy - certainly one of the highlights of their lives.
Reading the “American College Cricket” written on the shirt Kumble asked the students about it, and was happily surprised to find out that cricket was being played in American & Canadian Universities. The students then donned Espn shirts to ride with Kumble.
The American College Cricket season on TV Asia in the USA & Canada begins immediately after the T20 World Cup.
