Another win for Hertford this week left them 41 points clear at the top of the Saracens Hertforshire Cricket League Division One.
They came up against Old Finchleians, whose own title bid has faltered as the season went on, and dismissed them for 143 en route to a one-wicket win.
With Totteridge Milhillians succumbing to a heavy 116-run defeat to Hitchin, Reed are now Hertford's nearest challengers with 317 points to Hertford's 358, after beating Ampthill Town by three wickets.
At the other end of the table, St Albans (174 points) and Luton Town & Indians (221) occupy the relegation spots with Langleybury four points better off.
Dunstable (394 points) remain at the head of Division Two but they had to cling on with one wicket remaining to draw with second-placed Botany Bay (378), who may come to rue their failure to grab the vital wicket defending 165 for nine.
Dunstable closed on 102 for nine in 47 overs. Broxbourne (365) lie in third place after a convincing win over Watford Town.
Abbots Langley jumped from third to first in the Third Division, overtaking Met Police Bushey and Old Owens with a big win over Redbourn.
They are top with 365 points, Met Police Bushey have 343 and Old Owens have 339.
