Ant Botha Leaves Derbyshire For Warwickshire

All-rounder Ant Botha has left Derbyshire, signing a two-year deal with Warwickshire, enabling him to play for the Edgbaston side with immediate effect.

He rejected a new deal at Derbyshire and signed the deal with Warwickshire earlier this month, commenting:

"At this stage of my career I feel this is the right move for me and an exciting opportunity."

"It is great to have Ant joining us. He is a multi-skilled cricketer with the desire and potential to further improve his already well rounded game," added club captain Darren Maddy, himself a recent signing, having moved from Derbyshire's East Midlands rivals Leicestershire prior to the 2007 season.

Botha has been named in the NatWest Pro40 squad to take on Northamptonshire Steelbacks tomorrow (Sunday). Warwickshire take on Lancashire at Edgbaston today.
