Dilhara Fernando has been called up as a replacement for Thilan Thushara in Sri Lanka's Test squad in India after Thushara suffered a shoulder injury.
A statement from Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed that left-arm pacer Thushara will be ruled out for two to four weeks and has been replaced by Fernando, who has played 33 Tests for his country, the last of those coming in March of this year in Pakistan.
"Thilan Thushara, will return back to Sri Lanka due to a shoulder injury, and as such he will not be match fit for approximately 2 to 4 weeks," the statement read.
"Thilan will be sent back and Dilhara Fernando will replace him."
Thushara injured the shoulder in training ahead of the first match in Ahmedabad, which forced him out of the game, allowing fellow left-armer Chanaka Welagedara to make a return to the side.
Thushara has played nine Tests for Sri Lanka, in addition to 32 One-Day Internationals and eight Twenty20 Internationals.
Sri Lanka tour India for three Tests, five One-Day Internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals, the tour lasting until 27th December. Both sides then travel to Bangladesh for an ODI tri-series in January.
