Northern Districts fast bowler Brent Arnel has been added to New Zealand's Test squad after Andy McKay was ruled out of the match against Bangladesh with a foot injury.
McKay, who made his international debut during the One-Day International series, misses out on a potential Test debut in Hamilton due to a 'mild foot injury', according to New Zealand Cricket's (NZC) website (www.blackcaps.co.nz).
"This is a precautionary measure," Mark Greatbatch told the same source. "It would be unwise to risk aggravating his injury for the sake of a one-off test match. We want to make sure he is fit again as soon as possible.
"We are all disappointed for Andy, but at this stage he needs a chance to rest his foot and recover properly.
"Brent has been in the wings for a while and was twelfth man for New Zealand during last year’s Indian tour. He has been doing a lot of extra bowling recently and has been performing well at domestic cricket."
The one-off Test begins on 15th February.
New Zealand Test squad: Daniel Vettori (captain), Brent Arnel, Neil Broom, Martin Guptill, Peter Ingram, Brendon McCullum, Tim McIntosh, Chris Martin, Jeetan Patel, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor, Daryl Tuffey, BJ Watling
