Ashes 2009: Paine Added To Squad As Cover For Manou
Tasmania wicket-keeper Tim Paine has been added to Australia's squad for the fifth and final Ashes Test at The Oval as cover for the injured Graham Manou.
Paine, already due to arrive in England for the limited overs leg of Australia's tour, has been drafted in due to the hand injury that Manou picked up in the third Test at Edgbaston.
Queensland's Chris Hartley played in the two-day tour game against the Lions as both Brad Haddin and Manou were rested. Haddin fractured a finger prior to Edgbaston but should be fit for the match, which begins on Thursday 20th August.
“Tim will arrive a few days early as a precautionary measure should Graham Manou’s hand injury not recover sufficiently to be available as a reserve wicket-keeper for Thursday’s fifth Ashes Test at The Oval," physio Alex Kountouris explained.
“Brad Haddin is expected to be fully fit for selection in this match”
The series is tied at 1-1
