England's Ashes defence is over.

England cricket followers waking up this morning were greeted with the news that overnight, Australia had wrapped up a 150-run win in the third Test at the WACA in Perth, handing them an unassailable 3-0 series lead.

We have picked out some of our favourite Ashes reaction tweets, some as the event was unfolding, some later on.

Some congratulated Australia while others bemoaned England's performance. Some even directly questioned the players.

Already, England fans are looking to the future, with the 2015 series and the performance of Ben Stokes giving them something to cheer about.

Nevertheless, after more than four years of Ashes domination, it is Australia's turn to hold the urn.

Well played.
