Audio - Mark Wallace Previews YB40 Final

Glamorgan captain Mark Wallace talks to us about leading the side out at next week's YB40 final at Lord's, where his side will take on Nottinghamshire.

Glamorgan earned their place in the final through a string of fine performances including the 31-run win over Hampshire in the semi-final.

Here, Wallace talks about their 40-over cricket this season, that semi-final win, what it means to be leading Glamorgan out at Lord's and how he hopes the cricket team can contribute to what has been a huge year for Welsh sport.

He says it is about time Glamorgan joined the likes of Wales, the British & Irish Lions (rugby), Cardiff City, Swansea and Newport (football) in giving Welsh sports fans something to shout about.

Finally, he pays tribute to Simon Jones, for whom the YB40 final will be his last game of one-day or first-class cricket.

Wallace says that he is undoubtedly one of the fastest and best bowlers he has ever kept to.

Mark Wallace was speaking ahead of the Yorkshire Bank 40 final at Lord's Saturday 21st September. Tickets to see the 'Road to Lord's' come to its climax are available from tickets.lords.org
