Bangladesh And India Remain In Charge

India and Bangladesh remain in charge of Test matches against Australia and New Zealand on day four in and respectively.

India extended their lead over Australia to 431 as Gautam Gambhir (102) and Virender Sehwag (90) shared a first-wicket stand of 182 with Gambhir going on to reach his second Test century.

Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni then promoted both himself and Saurav Ganguly with a declaration expected sometime after lunch.

Meanwhile, in Chittagong, Bangladesh were bowled out for 242 in their second innings, leaving New Zealand a victory target of 317 in five sessions and three overs.

At lunch, the Black Caps were three without loss.

Mashrafe Mortaza (44) and Abdur Razzak (18) added useful runs for Bangladesh, Daniel Vettori finished with four for 74.
