Tamim Iqbal blazed a century but it wasn't enough for Bangladesh to beat the Auckland Aces in their final one-day warm up match ahead of the series against New Zealand.

Tamim's effort, which included four sixes, saw Bangladesh post 242, which the Aces chased down for the loss of three wickets, securing a seven-wicket win with four overs to spare at Eden Park's Outer Oval in Auckland.

Bangladesh lost their last seven wickets for just 58 runs, after Iqbal had combined with Aftab Ahmed (29) and Mohammad Ashraful (27).

Auckland, the reigning one-day champions in New Zealand, were scarcely troubled in their run chase, Richard Jones hitting an unbeaten 85 while Martin Guptill scored 59.

Bangladesh take on New Zealand in a three-match one-day international series with the first match on December 26th, prior to which a charity match will take place to raise funds for Cyclone Sidr survivors in Bangladesh.
