Barmy Army ready for Edgbaston Test

With the Second Test of the Investec Series against the West Indies underway, members of England's iconic Barmy Army are looking forward to returning to Edgbaston when they stage their reunion during the Third Test.

Members of the Barmy Army, including the group's famous trumpeter 'Billy the Trumpet', are travelling from all corners of the country to see England in action at Edgbaston, between 7 and 11 June, as the official reunion from England's tour of Sri Lanka in March and April.

Paul Burnham, Co-Founder of the Barmy Army, said: "We love watching England at Edgbaston because it creates one of the best atmospheres in world cricket, and Billy is really looking forward to coming along on Friday and Saturday as he's not been to a Test yet this summer.

"We staged our Ashes tour reunion at Edgbaston last August and had a great time. Not only did England secure an emphatic victory, but went to the top of the world rankings, so we're all looking forward to coming back next week."

The Edgbaston Test Match takes place between Thursday 7 and Monday 11 June and tickets and available at http://www.edgbaston.com/tickets.

Colin Povey, Chief Executive of Edgbaston Stadium, said: "It's great that the Edgbaston Test Match plays such a key role in the Barmy Army calendar. Our spectators in the Eric Hollies Stand love singing and clapping along to the tunes from Billy the Trumpet and it generates a great atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

"We always make a special effort to make the Barmy Army feel very welcome here and look forward to seeing its members over the course of the Investec Test Match."
