From the list of 57 applicants for the post of the national head coach, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shortlisted a total of 21 candidates.

In a media release, the BCCI said that the list of 21 candidates will be forwarded to the cricket advisory committee consisting of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and VVS Laxman.

Additionally, the BCCI has appointed former board secretary Sanjay Jagdale as the chief co-ordinator of the cricket advisory committee for selection of the head coach.

The cricket advisory committee will now scrutinise the applicants and conduct interviews if necessary while the BCCI will also forward the full list of 57 applicants if the committee wishes to go through it.

The BCCI has also confirmed that Tendulkar, who is currently out of the country, will be available for the process of selection of the head coach via video conferencing.

According to the BCCI, the committee is expected to complete the selection of the coach and forward the report to the secretary Ajay Shirke by 22nd June.
