New Zealand have called up fast bowler Hamish Bennett to replace Adam Milne in their One-Day International squad to take on India.
Fellow quick bowler Milne managed to bowl just 7.3 overs during the opening match in Napier, which New Zealand went on to win by 24 runs, before leaving the field with a side strain.
Bennett, who has now fully recovered from surgery on his back, makes a return to international cricket after Milne was diagnosed with a torn abdominal muscle.
Bennett last played an ODI for New Zealand in March 2011 and underwent surgery to correct a stress fracture which put him out of the game for almost a year.
He played one Test and 12 ODIs before his back operation and comes into the reckoning for the second match of the series in Hamilton tomorrow (22nd January).
New Zealand ODI squad: Brendon McCullum (captain), Corey Anderson, Hamish Bennett, Martin Guptill, Mitchell McClenaghan, Nathan McCullum, Kyle Mills, James Neesham, Luke Ronchi, Jesse Ryder, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor, Kane Williamson
