Big Names Set For Old Trafford FPT Showdown
England stars Andrew Flintoff, James Anderson, Saj Mahmood, Mal Loye, Paul Collingwood, Steve Harmison, Graham Onions and Phil Mustard all available for selection; add to this South African superstar Neil McKenzie, West Indian Bowler Gareth Breese, New Zealand Test Player Paul Wiseman, and Aussie run machines’ Stuart Law and Michael Di Venuto – and this is a limited overs fixture not to be missed.
Subject to work permit, Lancashire also hope new signing Mohammad Yousuf will make his club debut in this match. Yousuf has a fantastic track record in One-Day Internationals, scoring 9074 runs in 261 matches at an average of 43.62.
To mark this special match, Lancashire County Cricket Club has teamed up with Trophy sponsors Friends Provident to organise a special Club Day. Tickets for this Sunday are available to everyone as a Buy One Get One Free offer. Simply buy one ticket and get another at the same value for free.
Before the start of play and during the lunch interval there will be a variety of entertainment including Street Dancers and a Brass Band, plus all who attend will receive a special 2008 Team Poster as a memento of the Club Day.
A banner competition will create a carnival-like feeling to the day. The best banner will win a box for 16 people at Lancashire Lightning’s Twenty20 Cup match against Derbyshire Phantoms on 23rd June. A Banner station will be set up at Old Trafford for people to create their own “masterpiece” prior to the match starting.
The ground will be full of colour during the match as supporters are asked to come in their club colours or uniform to try and win spot prizes throughout the day.
