The West Indies have called up uncapped Guyanese leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo to replace the injured Dwayne Bravo in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 squad.

Bravo suffered a knee injury during his side's opening Group B match against South Africa and was subsequently ruled out for at least four weeks and has returned home to Trinidad.

Bishoo has played 20 first-class matches, 50 one-day games and 13 Twenty20 matches, recently representing West Indies A against Pakistan A.

The 25-year-old was also the player of the tournament in the 2010 Caribbean Twenty20 tournament and took ten wickets in the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) 50-over competition in October.

Following approval from the International Cricket Council (ICC) Technical Committee, Bishoo is set to join up with the squad on 2nd March and could be available to play when the West Indies take on Bangladehs on 4th March in their third group game.
