Black Country Floodlit Cup 2012 Ready To Go

Himley CC are inviting cricket fans throughout the region to enjoy the thrills of floodlit t20 action throughout the week of 20th August.

The club are staging the Black Country Floodlit t20 tournament from Monday to Friday after the success of last two year’s event.

And it’s a great opportunity for parents to treat their youngsters to a great night out during the school holidays at the Stourbridge Road venue.

The Birmingham League club, who have a reputation for their welcoming facilities and friendly atmosphere, take on Stourbridge, Wolverhampton and Brewood in a feast of action for the Joe Brandrick Trophy.

On Thursday there is a one-off game between the pick of the Staffordshire Club Championship and Worcestershire County League. Entry for spectators is FREE all week.

Organiser, Greg Wright, is looking forward to the competition's third year: "We're really excited to welcome two new clubs and two key leagues to this years floodlit week. It keeps the buzz going, entertainment fresh and enables us to continue broadening the view of local club cricket.

"All the usual T20 action you'd see on TV will be on show including floodlights, coloured clothing and balls plus music and on field entertainment. Huge thanks to our sponsors Banks's, Lensons and Horizon for helping make this happen."

He finished by saying: "Our message is for people of all ages to come down and enjoy the entertainment!"

Himley launch the competition on Monday at 5.30 with a clash against last years champions, Wolverhampton, followed immediately by newcomers Stourbridge verses Brewood.

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 22: Wolverhampton v Stourbridge 5.30, Brewood v Himley 7.40.
THURSDAY AUGUST 23: Staffordshire Club Championship vs Worcestershire County League @ 6.30.
FRIDAY AUGUST 24: Final @ 6.30
