Joe Blacklock made Eppleton Cricket Club history at on Sunday (29th June) after scoring 125 not out against Gateshead Fell in the North East Premier League Sunday Division Two.

Joe batted superbly for 35 overs before Eppleton declared on 277 for four.

Not only did Joe do well with the bat but he also struck with the ball, bagging five for 16, four of his wickets being clean bowled and one a catch.

This is the first time an Eppleton player has scored a century and taken five wickets since New Zealand professional David O`Sullivan achieved the feat in the 1976 season.

Development Team Captain John Smithson said: "It was great to watch Joe on Sunday in what was a chanceless performance.

"Joe has worked worked extremely hard to improve both his batting and bowling over the season and its lovely to see the hard work he's put in is paying off for him.

"We were delighted when he was selected for Durham Under 15s squad in the winter."
