Lancashire batsman Stephen Moore will miss the rest of the season after dislocating his shoulder while fielding during the Friends Provident t20 quarter-final against Essex at Chelmsford.
Moore, 29, has since seen a specialist and he will undergo surgery which rules him out of the rest of Lancashire's campaign.
The opener, who switched from Worcestershire in the close season, has enjoyed a solid year at the top of the order, scoring 426 Championship runs, 331 runs at 25.46 in the FP t20 and 335 runs, including two centuries, in the Clydesdale Bank 40.
“It is a big disappointment for Stephen and for the club as we approach the Championship run-in," head coach Peter Moores said.
“We wish him well in his recovery.”
