Essex batsman Ravi Bopara has been added to England's squad ahead of the decisive third One-Day International against Bangladesh at Edgbaston on Monday (12th July).

Bell fractured a bone in his left foot while fielding during the second match, which Bangladesh won by five runs, and was only prepared to bat if the situation demanded it.

With England requiring ten to win from the final over and with number ten batsman James Anderson dismissed, Bell hobbled to the middle with Eoin Morgan as a runner but didn't have to face a ball before Jonathan Trott was dismissed as Bangladesh claimed their first ever international victory over England.

It is a cruel blow for Bell, who guided England to victory in the opening match with an unbeaten 84 and scored a century against the same opponents in the Test series earlier in the summer.

He may now miss the Test series against Pakistan, which begins on 29th July.

Bopara, who has played 50 One-Day Internationals for England, will join up with the squad after Essex's Friends Provident t20 game against Somerset.
