South African stand-in captain Johan Botha has earmarked the coming weekend as massively important for his side as they take on Australia in the first two of five One Day Internationals in Melbourne (January 16th) and Hobart (January 18th).

“We start the series at 0-0,” pointed out Botha. “We can put a lot of pressure on Australia if we have a winning weekend. At the same time it will allow the players to forget quickly about the two T20 defeats.”

South Africa are boosted by the return of Jacques Kallis from the 'flu and AB de Villiers from the hip injury that ruled him out of the second Twenty20 International in Brisbane.

Australia took that series 2-0 and are set to play Michael Clarke after he was passed fit to play. The vice-captain had been suffering with a thumb injury.
