Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has been ruled out of the upcoming One Day International series against Bangladesh after being granted leave by Cricket Australia (CA).

Lee will not appear due to family reasons while Tasmanian bowler Brett Geeves will take his place in the squad for the three One Day Internationals in Darwin on August 30th, September 3rd and September 6th.

Cricket Australia acting chief executive Michael Brown said in a statement: "The selectors are comfortable this move will maintain the competitive edge for the Australian side and provide a wonderful opportunity for Geeves."

Geeves appeared for the Delhi Daredevils during the Indian Premier League while Australia are already without injured captain Ricky Ponting and opening batsman Matthew Hayden is still carrying an Achilles injury.
