Broad Gets Injury Boost

England and Leicestershire fast bowler Stuart Broad may be able to return to action within a fortnight, after a scan revealed no serious damage to his left knee.

Broad visited a specialist in London after some problems but he has now been given the all-clear. The young bowler, 20, was ruled out of the first Test against the West Indies at Lord's.

"The positive thing at this stage is that there is no serious damage to the knee, which was our big concern when it swelled up after he caught his studs in the turf,'' said senior coach Tim Boon.

"We still have to be careful not to rush him back, which is why he will rest until everything has settled down, but hopefully he will now be back in action before the end of the month.''
