Tour game, Dubai

Stuart Broad took four wickets as England dismissed the ICC Combined Associate & Affiliate XI for 281 on day one of their three-day tour game in Dubai.

Steven Finn, James Anderson and Graeme Swann all took two wickets apiece before the England side closed on 16 without loss in reply.

They made early inroads and reduced their opponents to 90 for five before 98 from Namibian Christi Viljoen and 43 from Boyd Rankin helped the ICC side hit back.

Viljoen and Rankin put on 95 for the ninth wicket before Anderson completed figures of two for 46 by dismissing Rankin and Viljoen was denied a century when Broad (4-46) had him caught by Finn.

Afghan Mohammad Shahzad also scored 51 and Namibia's Craig Williams scored 34 to rebuild the innings.

England openers Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook both scored eight as England survived to reach stumps unscathed.
