Broad Suffers Recurrence Of Heel Injury
Stuart Broad, England's Twenty20 International captain, has been sent for a scan on a recurrence of a heel injury that he suffered during the early part of his country's tour of India.
It did not rule him out of the opening two Tests although he was subsequently left out in favour of Steven Finn and the problem could leave him in doubt for the two Twenty20 matches on 20th and 22nd December.
The original injury forced Broad to miss England's final tour game but he was passed fit to play in Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
bet365 make England 9/4 to win the fourth and final Test with India at 11/8 and the draw - which would hand England a 2-1 series win - available at 2/1.
It is hardly likely to change England's plans ahead of the final Test, which gets underway in Nagpur on Thursday (13th December) as Steven Finn and James Anderson are expected to retain their places in the side that won by seven wickets in Kolkata.
However, should Broad be forced to miss the Twenty20 Internationals, Eoin Morgan would be in line to take over the reigns as captain and England would have to consider the balance of their side.
