Two hundred children from schools across London took part in the Chance to Shine London Schools Cup sponsored by Allianz.

The children, aged 13, will be trying to emulate their England cricketing heroes playing in the first Test against the West Indies a stone’s throw away from Regent’s Park at Lord’s.  A boys and girls competiton will run in parallel across six cricket pitches at the spectacular Multi-Sport Community Hub.

This is the fourth year that Allianz, one of the UK’s leading general insurers, has supported Chance to shine - the Cricket Foundation’s campaign to bring the educational benefits of cricket to a third of state schools by 2015.

Mike Gatting, former England and Middlesex captain, now Managing Director of Cricket Partnerships at the England and Wales Cricket Board, presented the winning trophies with Rosalie Birch of the England Womens Cricket Team and Chance to Shine program.

Schools involved in Chance to shine London Schools Cup:

Alperton, Central Foundation, Finchley High, Harefield Academy, Haverstock, Highbury Fields, Holloway, London Academy,
Mossbourne Academy, Petchey Academy, Ravenscroft, Ruislip High, St Mary Mags Academy, Vyners.
