Hampshire batsman Michael Carberry has been ruled out of touring Australia with the England Performance Programme due to health reasons.
He has undergone succesful treatment for blood clots and a shortage of breath which precludes him from taking long-haul flights.
The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) selectors have decided against naming a replacement player at this stage ahead of the tour, which will see the team take on Queensland and Western Australian outfits.
Carberry, who made his Test debut for England in Bangladesh earlier this year, scored 1385 first-class runs in the 2010 season at an average of 51.29.
