Carberry Puts England In Control In Mirpur

A half-century from Michael Carberry has increased England 'A's hold on the first match against Bangladesh 'A' in Mirpur with England closing day 2 on 268 for 6 in reply to 209.

Will Jefferson (38) and Nick Compton (23) put on 57 for the first wicket and Michael Yardy added 34 before Carberry's 70, combined with Steven Davies' 37 took England past the 200 mark and they soon moved into the lead.

3 wickets then fell for 19 runs before Alex Loudon (25) and Tim Bresnan (21) took England safely to the close with a lead of 59.

Enamul Haque junior (2-67) and Mosharraf Hossain (2-62) were the pick of the bowlers.

Yesterday, Bangladesh were bowled out for 209 thanks to five wickets shared between Stuart Broad (3-35) and Graham Onions (2-35) as only Sagir Hossain (86) and Tushar Imran (56) impressed with the bat.
