Catford Wanderers - History

Currently 108 not out, the boasts Club has 3 Men’s XI in the Kent Cricket League, 1 Ladies XI and a very exuberant and successful Colts section which is run by senior members of the club who have succeeded in gaining UKCC level 1 and 2 qualifications.

We also have a Sunday Development Team who recently (2013) gained promotion into Division 1 of the Development League and a midweek T20 side in the Shepherd Neame T20 Competition.

As a Club, we take great pride in the longevity of our existence which we consider attributable to our warm family atmosphere within members and the development of Colts and Young Players by having coaching sessions all year round. We revel in a barrage of Club Coaches, all of which are working towards or have already achieved UKCC Level 1 or 2 Coaching Badge and fully DBS (formerly CRB) certified.

The Club Membership draws from a wide cross section of the community which creates a diverse and vibrant atmosphere. New and prospected members are always welcome with open arms whatever standard they play there is a place and opportunity for a game at Catford Wanderers.

In the Season of 2008, Catford Wanderers and BSKYB worked together to produce a series of short episodes on Inner City Cricket where we had the pleasure of creating a club tie with Michael Holding, former West Indian Fast Bowler.
