Tour game, Canberra, day one

The Australian Chairman's XI got stuck into the touring Sri Lankan bowling attack on the opening day of their tour game in Canberra, closing on 390 for four.

Usman Khawaja might have missed out on a Test recall but he made 56 in 104 balls as the batsmen dominated.

There was a wicket apiece for Shaminda Eranga, Chanaka Welagedara, and Nuwan Pradeep, who bowled economically enough but Dammika Prasad (0-101) and Suraj Randiv (1-121) leaked more than five runs an over.

Marcus Harris (20) and Alex Doolan (6) were the only men to miss out while Travis Head was unbeaten on 35 at stumps.

Henry faced 253 balls, hitting 22 fours and four sixes while Maxwell's belligerent innings included 11 fours and two sixes.

The first of three Tests between Australia and Sri Lanka gets underway in Hobart on 14th December.
