The day's second Champions League T20 match was markedly more one-sided than the first. Whereas Otago and Lions had needed a second tie-breaker to separate them, Rajasthan Royals breezed into the semi-finals courtesy of a nine-wicket demolition of a now-eliminated Perth Scorchers.
Lions somehow failed to score three runs off the final three balls of the Super Over and so lost to Otago on boundary count in what was just about as closely-contested a Champions League T20 match as it is possible to have.
Chennai Super Kings eased to a straightforward victory over Brisbane Heat in Group B of the Champions League T20. The win is their third in the tournament and puts through to the semi-finals with a game still to play.
