Perth Scorchers 91-2 v
Kolkata Knight Riders - no result
CLT20 Group A, Durban
Scorecard

Perth Scorchers and Kolkata Knight Riders remain winless after their Champions League Twenty20 Group A clash in Durban was washed out.

The Scorchers had advanced to 91 for two after Kolkata won the toss and chose to field before bad weather prevented any further play, also meaning that Kolkata are out of the competition.

In 14 overs, Perth had recovered well from the early loss of Herschelle Gibbs for two, who fell when he was caught by Iqbal Abdulla off Brett Lee.

Shaun Marsh hit 38 in 40 balls before he was trapped in front by Jacques Kallis and Simon Katich had made 43 not out in 32 balls when the rain arrived.

Mitchell Marsh was not out on five.

The no result did hand both sides their first points of the competition but with Nashua Titans stealing a march at the top of the table, both sides were desperate for the four points on offer having lost their opening games.

For Kolkata, the failure to win in three matches means they can no longer qualify and the result puts Perth, who have played two matches, under pressure to progress.

A capacity crowd is expected for the final of the Champions League Twenty20 at The Wanderers Stadium at Johannesburg on Sunday, according to league organisers. The final group game of the Champions League Twenty20 between Nashua Titans and Delhi Daredevils was abandoned without a ball being bowled at Centurion Park. Both sides had already qualified so the heavy rain changed nothing in terms of qualification, although the no result confirmed Delhi as the group winners.
Perth Scorchers ended their Champions League Twenty20 campaign by beating Auckland Aces by 16 runs at Centurion Park, knocking New Zealand's representatives out of the competition in the process.
