At a press conference in New York the world's current number one ranked Test batsman, Shivnarine Chanderpaul has announced the launch of the American College Cricket Hall of Fame on the fourth anniversary of his first involvement in American College Cricket.
 
American College Cricket was founded in October 2008 by Lloyd Jodah, and from December 2008 Chanderpaul has been the Patron and Brand Ambassador for American College Cricket. College teams in USA and Canada play for the Chanderpaul Trophy each year in March.
 
American College Cricket has grown from zero teams to over 70 in four years, as it has motivated the development of cricket at the college-level - the "grass roots" of all major American sports historically.

The evening will also feature a DJ and live band for Weist Indian-style partying ! TV Asia will cover the event, and American College Cricket players will be part of the event.
 
This Saturday Dec 15, the first inductee(s) in the American College Cricket Hall of Fame will be announced.
