Sri Lanka’s selectors have named the players who will take on the South Africans in the tourists’ only warm-up match ahead of the limited-overs internationals that take place in the country later this month.

The Sri Lankan Board President’s XI will play the Proteas tomorrow in Colombo and will be led by ODI vice-captain Dinesh Chandimal. Chandimal could captain Sri Lanka in the first two ODIs against South Africa later in the week after regular captain Angelo Mathews was suspended as punishment for his side's slow over-rate during the tri-series final against India. Also included is all-rounder Thisara Perera, who was recently dropped from his country’s senior ODI side.

Most of the players selected in the 14-man squad were involved in the recent inter-squad tri-series that acted as a warm-up for the ICC Champions Trophy last month, or played Sri Lanka A in the West Indies just after that.

Young batsmen Dimuth Karunaratne and Angelo Perera are selected, as are Jehan Mubarak and Kushal Perera. The bowling attack will be led by Dhammika Prasad and Vimukthi Perera.

President's XI squad: Dinesh Chandimal (capt), Kushal Perera, Dimuth Karunaratne, Mahela Udawatte, Angelo Perera, Sachithra Serasinghe, Chaturanga de Silva, Jehan Mubarak, Thisara Perera, Dhammika Prasad, Vimukthi Perera, Madura Lakmal, Seekkuge Prasanna, Ashan Priyanjan.
