Lancashire captain Glen Chapple is set to make a return from his calf injury after he was named in Lancashire's 13-man squad to take on Essex in tomorrow's Friends Provident Trophy quarter-final.

Chapple was absent from Lancashire's last three Trophy fixtures, the last of which they lost against Essex at Old Trafford but coach Peter Moores is still confident of beating the reigning champions.

“Essex are a very good one-day side, but we are playing well and are confident going into Saturday’s match," he said.

"Every member of the squad is contributing to our success this season, and although they (Essex) have beaten us twice, we know the areas we have to improve upon, and if we do that, there is no reason why we can’t win.”
