New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson has delayed his arrival in India ahead of the 2011 World Cup due to a chest infection.
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) confirmed that he has been given medical advice not to fly with the team, which is heading to India ahead of the tournament, which begins on 19th February.
Williamson, 9/1 with to be his country's top batsman in the tournament, will undergo treatment and is expected to be fit to joinup with his team-mates in the next few days.
New Zealand begin their preparation by playing warm-up games against Ireland on 12th February and India on 16th February. Their campaign gets underway when they play Kenya on 20th February in Chennai.
Williamson has played 11 One-Day Internationals for his country since making his debut in 2010, scoring 253 runs at 25.30.
