Williamson, 9/1 with to be his country's top batsman in the tournament, will undergo treatment and is expected to be fit to joinup with his team-mates in the next few days.

New Zealand begin their preparation by playing warm-up games against Ireland on 12th February and India on 16th February. Their campaign gets underway when they play Kenya on 20th February in Chennai.

Williamson has played 11 One-Day Internationals for his country since making his debut in 2010, scoring 253 runs at 25.30.
