Former Sussex captain Chris Adams has been named as Surrey's new Cricket Manager.

Adams will lead the coaching and development staff as Surrey bid to return to Division One of the LV County Championship after being relegated last season without registering a win in the top division.

Adams, capped five times in Tests and One Day Internationals by England, led Sussex to three County Championships between 2001 and 2007, the C & G Trophy in 2006 and the NatWest Pro40 title this year having moved from Derbyshire after the 1997 season.
